For Bible Verse Widgets & Daily
Effective Date: October 2, 2026 · Last Updated: October 2, 2026
Bible Verse is published by an independent Apple platforms developer (referred to in this policy as "we", "our", or "us"). You can reach us by email at ev.kryzhanivskyi@gmail.com.
This Privacy Policy describes how the Bible Verse Widgets & Daily application for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, together with its widgets and complications (the "App"), handles information.
Short version: we do not collect personal data about you. Scripture is bundled with the App and read offline. Your favorites, notes, prayers, memorization progress and plan progress are stored on your device and, if iCloud sync is on, in your own private iCloud database, which we cannot read. The App has no accounts and contains no analytics or advertising.
We do not collect, store on our servers, sell, or share personal information from the App. In particular, we do not collect:
Because we do not collect personal data through the App, we do not maintain a user database. The App's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
All Bible translations are bundled inside the App as public-domain or openly licensed texts from eBible.org. Reading, the verse of the day, and full-text search all run on your device. No passage you open and no search you type is sent anywhere.
The App stores the following on your device, in a database inside the App's own container, shared only with the App's widgets through an Apple App Group:
None of this is sent to us.
When iCloud sync is on (the default when you are signed in to iCloud), the data listed above is stored in the private database of your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so it can appear on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
Data in your private iCloud database belongs to your Apple Account. We, as the developer, cannot access, read, or export it. iCloud storage is provided by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy and your iCloud settings. You can turn sync off at any time in the App's settings, and manage or delete iCloud data in your device settings.
If you allow notifications, the App schedules local notifications on your device: the verse of the day at your morning time, a weekly memorization review, and reminders for prayers you choose to be reminded about. They are never sent through a server. A prayer reminder shows the text of that prayer, so it may be visible on your Lock Screen depending on your notification preview settings.
You can change or revoke notification permission at any time in the system Settings.
Patrons can use a photo as the background of a share card. The photo is chosen with Apple's system photo picker, which gives the App only the single image you select and does not grant access to your photo library. The image is used on your device to compose the card and is never uploaded to us.
You can delete favorites, prayers and memory cards inside the App, or delete all local App data by uninstalling the App.
You can export a backup of your favorites, memorization, plan progress, prayers and settings as a file. It is created on your device and saved wherever you choose (for example, in Files). Restoring a backup reads a file you pick. Share cards and verses are handed to the system share sheet, and where they go next is chosen by you.
The only network request the App makes on its own is to download a small static configuration file from our website, at most once a day. The file contains non-personal settings such as how many themes are free and the length of the free trial. The request carries no personal data, no identifiers, and nothing about what you read or save. As with any web request, the server that hosts the file receives your IP address as part of the connection; we do not use it to identify you or combine it with any other data. If the request fails, the App uses built-in defaults.
Other network traffic is handled by Apple: App Store purchases through StoreKit and, if it is on, iCloud sync through CloudKit.
Patron purchases, the yearly option and tips are sold and managed by Apple through the App Store. Apple is the merchant of record. We do not see your payment details, Apple Account, billing address, or full name. The App receives from Apple only a confirmation of which purchase, if any, is active. Apple's own privacy policy applies to App Store purchases, subscription management, purchase restoration, iCloud and CloudKit, notifications, widgets, Apple Watch, the photo picker, the share sheet, and other system services.
Bible texts come from eBible.org and are bundled when the App is built. The App does not contact eBible.org or any other text provider.
The App does not include any third-party code. There are no analytics, crash reporting, advertising, attribution, or tracking SDKs. Outgoing links to Apple's standard end user license agreement and this Privacy Policy open only at your request.
The App is a general-audience reference app rated 4+ on the App Store. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and it is not enrolled in the App Store Kids category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us; because we do not collect personal data, there is normally nothing for us to delete from our systems.
Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and similar laws. These rights can include access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection to processing.
Because we do not collect or hold personal data from the App, we have no personal data to provide, correct, delete, or transfer in response to such a request. You still control the App's data:
California residents: we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we have no categories of personal information to disclose because we do not collect any through the App.
The App relies on security features built into iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, including app sandboxing, data protection for files on your device, an App Group container shared only with the App's own widgets, Apple's protection of iCloud data, and Apple's StoreKit transaction verification. No method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. However, the App does not transmit your data to us, because we have no servers that receive it.
The App may be available through the Apple App Store in multiple countries. Because your data is stored on your device and, optionally, in your own iCloud account, and we do not collect personal data through the App, we do not transfer your App data across borders on our side.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new App functionality or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. The basic commitment that the App does not collect your personal data will not change without clear notice.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or the way the App handles data, please write to ev.kryzhanivskyi@gmail.com.
